Why do Swimmers have to swim heats in the morning if there are 8 or less swimmers and then a final in the evening - could they not just swim the one race?
Our swimmers generally have limited experience of swimming in events that have heats and finals. As the Championships are our premier event we use them to try and give our swimmers this experience and have the opportunity to swim in heats at their level.
Why is not possible to use the Leisure Pool to warm up & swim down after it has been closed to the Public?
We would have to hire the Leisure Pool which would add to the costs of the event - we will review when we look at the budget for 2010.
How do I become a member of the Island Swimming Squad?
The Coaching Committee led by the National Coach will review the squad on a quarterly basis. They will seek recommendations from the Club Coaches. Their assessment will be based on performance, potential, commitment and age.
