This is not an 'official' comment, but merely the observations of a of bloke with a 14 year old that swims competatively with The City Of Salford. For my sins I marshall the swimmers for most of the major competitions centered around the North West.
Long weekends directing kids with boundless energy can be draining but so rewarding - and I can be quick to criticize coaches and swimmers that fall short of the demanding self-dicipline and respect that this sport requires.
However, I feel that I should also take the time and effort to praise when deserved.
I would be grateful if you could pass on to the coaches and swimmers with the Isle Of Man team my thanks and huge respect for the wonderful attitude they displayed at both the NW age group and the NW youth Championships. They showed talent and wonderful manners and respect for the officials, other swimmers, and this wonderful sport in general. I cannot praise highly enough the contribution their presence contributed to the championships.
They are a very classy bunch of kids.
I will be following their progress and success with enthusiasm and the very best wishes.
